Leilani Todd has over 35 years of experience in multiple facets of finance, operations, human resources, and safety; earning respect as a trusted principal with company leadership, clients, and employees alike. Her ability to connect quickly and build relationships with every team member allows her to guide the culture and tone of any organization. She advises leaders on clarifying strategy, organizational development and design needs, adapting culture, and navigating change. Her approach addresses the personal, interpersonal, organizational and cultural elements of transformation to create inclusive environments where people can thrive as their authentic selves and embrace each other’s differences.

Leilani has served in various positions with the American rural electric cooperatives for nearly 25 years: from the Director of Finance, to the Vice President of Human Resources and Safety, and as a CEO/General Manager. Prior to serving the electric cooperatives, Leilani worked in the healthcare arena for public and privately-owned healthcare facilities.

Leilani holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northwest Missouri State University and attained her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 2006. She has held high-level management positions throughout her career. She previously served the rural electric cooperatives on the executive advisory council for the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD), chaired the statewide consortia for workforce development in Virginia, and was elected for several leadership roles in human resource organizations; including the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Human Resources Advisory Board.

Leilani is no stranger to the classroom. Whether teaching students about energy efficiency, working with staff to hone customer service skills, or facilitating safety trainings…Leilani works with various-sized groups. She is passionate about helping others be the best version of themselves. Since 2019, she has facilitated nationwide supervisory and management development courses for NRECA. In addition, to improve her own presentation skills, she helped charter the Lake Country Toastmasters in South Hill, VA, in 2020, to help people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.

Leilani and her husband, Kevin, live in Southern Iowa, where they enjoy being empty-nesters and spending time with family. She remains involved in the energy industry, as well as in the workforce, driven by her passionate and relentless desire to educate others about the excellent career opportunities in the energy industry.
